I wasn’t happy and already foreseeing trouble but I took it. I can access BIOS, I can access and go through all pre-installed “stress tests” provided by Dell like troubleshooting software etc, Windows Recovery Menu, I see the screen images, all good and perfect – so it’s NOT a Hardware issue – I can also use the new screen under Windows Safe Mode but it simply doesn’t work it’s ON, I can see that, but all black when I go for a standard reboot.
I’ve tried everything. Black screen after reboot sequence and the image switches to the 2nd screen when it’s time for my login credentials. Of course that when I try to “Identify” or “Detect” another display on Display Settings it just says ” Didn’t detect another display”. Just the external one connected via HDMI. Entering the bios is prior to Windows 10 loading so changing anything in windows won’t make a difference.
Can you ask on the Dell forums about access to the bios on you model. It’s usually tapping F2 during boot, or DEL. As I say to enter the bios you need to get in before the operating system boots. What happens if you disconnect the hard drive.

Unfortunately I did that too under “Safe Mode” I also tested a clean boot leaving only Microsoft stuff there to check any for possible software problem, etc.
I’m not a professional but I’m a quite experienced user so Minimum 12 hours already working on this. I wouldn’t be sure if a clean install would do it either.
The monitor is still using the same graphics chips on the device so I understand why windows would just re-install the same graphics driver and wondered if the Monitor driver would be different.
I don’t think you can do a repair install from within Safe Mode and it depends what version of Windows 10 you have. If you want to try that route you will need to download the ISO image file that matches your current version of Windows You can use what you have if you have already created boot media USB but it needs to match your current version. Still hopeful not to go down that road, but thanks for sharing.

You say you removed the graphics drivers and the monitor drivers. So because the graphics has not changed, still Intel and Nvidia they will load the same drivers as before. Are there any drivers from Intel or Nvidia, have you tried their respective websites. When you have the new monitor fitted and you uninstall the monitor driver in Safe Mode can you start then in normal mode, windows should load drivers for the new monitor and I would have thought slightly different for the different screen type.
As a matter of interest what version and build do you have installed for Windows Type winver in Search and select the top result.
